The Williamson County Guitar Society promotes the many instrumental styles of music through the guitar in our area. Founded by professional players and educators we bring to Williamson County amazing concerts featuring new performers and world-class artists.

We also create opportunities for amateur and student guitarists to share their music and develop their skills by performing at our meetings and learning from experts. Come learn, listen, enjoy and join us!

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

We have been gifted by the The W.D. Kelley Foundation for educational presentations to bring the history of chordophones to young people. These hands-on presentations bring artists in to discuss the influence of stringed instruments in world music and the music of the Americas.

MUSIC LESSONS FOR KIDS AT TEXAS BAPTIST CHILDREN'S HOME

After a successful online course for seniors during the pandemic, Wilco Guitar Society is sponsoring guitar classes for kids at the Texas Baptist Children's Home in Round Rock. This class is for young people who are in a family transition. Guitars have been donated for use by the kids, and instruction will be provided by the Childbloom Guitar Program of Central Texas.

"These kids don't have the opportunity to take music lessons. We want to be able to give the kids something to do for the rest of their lives." says Wilco President, Kevin Taylor.
