Wilco Guitar Society receives Education Grant from the Kelly Foundation

The Williamson County Guitar Society is pleased to announce it has received a generous grant from the Kelly Foundation. The funding will sponsor a series of educational presentations highlighting the history, culture and music of the guitar and other stringed instruments for the elementary and middle schools in Williamson County.

“We are delighted that we can bring professional musicians wo are also music historians to perform music from around the world through various types of guitars” said Kevin Taylor, President of the Wilco Guitar Society. “This initiative will enrich students’ understanding of music and culture while exposing them to the diversity of guitar traditions and musical styles.”

The presentations will be led by Adam Carney, a renowned harp guitarist, Tony Rogers, cellist and Slobodan Vujisic, player of early music instruments and Director of Austin Troubadours.
